Onyx Scorpion MilSimTheme
OSMS is styled around the modern PMC (Private Military Corporation). This means mostly user freedom in choosing their Airsoft weapons. Our team members' weaponry is mostly dealer's choice, with the biggest factor being the gear chosen must match their playstyle. Modern style equipment is preferred, but not mandatory.
Onyx Scorpion MilSim has a dedicated uniform and style for team play airsoft. There is a home as well as an away uniform, based around the tan/green war games rules. The Home uniform consists of Jagun Tactical's iteration of the Russsian Digital Flora camouflage. Body armor, rigging and any other equipment is to be olive drab, coyote brown, or any combination of the Home/Away camouflage variations. Any other patterns (such as MultiCam or ACUPAT) can be used with permission in the event there is no easier alternative.* The Away pattern is still to be determined, with the same rules for the Home uniform supplemented gear also applying.
Boots are under the discretion of team members. There are no restrictions to brand or color, just ensure you have comfortable and durable field footwear.
Uniform must be kept maintained; large tears, holes or a uniform that is extremely unclean will not be tolerated.
*An "easier alternative" will be decided by the OSMS leaders on the basis of cost and ease of acquisition. Approval is likely, but permission is still required.
During the game a proper mask should be worn at all times. Masks should not be distracting – it is designed for protection not a statement. team members are responsible for their own safety gear. All masks or goggles should be durable and meet some natonal standard (ANSI etc.) for your own safety.
If a player wishes to have only goggles, a lower mask is advised, and on many fields required. Please have a full mask as a backup, as some fields require one.
All full OSMS team members will receive a team patch as well as a call-sign patch that MUST be worn in all games. The team patch is to be worn on the left shoulder, centered on the upper hook and loop area. The call-sign patch will be placed on the center of the plate carrier, left breast pocket of jacket, or in the event of neither, on the headwear of the player. Failure to wear the patch will result in two warnings, followed by dismissal on the third offense.
Morale patches are allowed in addition to the team patch within reason. Try NOT to be a billboard
